A Net Launcher is a beneficial device to add to your advanced kit. It will enable you to capture flight-capable compromised birds that are unable to be captured by other conventional methods. With this training we hope to give you the confidence to use them safely and effectively in the field.

Our Online Training:

It is a requirement from the engineer who designed these devices that anyone wishing to purchase them undertake the training prior to purchase. This is to ensure that everyone using them in the field has a sound understanding of how to use them safely and are well informed so that they have better chances of successful use in the field. Previously there has been no such training offered. Our aim is to share the knowledge so that those using these devices in the field can continue to use them without having restrictions implemented due to misuse.

Net Sizes for Net Launchers – Product Descriptions:

2500 × 50 × 50 mm

•  Ideal for Coots, Crested Pigeons, Butcher Birds, Seagulls and Magpies

•  Recommended: Purchase two replacement nets with this size

3000 × 75 × 75 mm

•  Suitable for Ducks, Seagulls and Magpies

•  Also effective for Darter, Cormorant, Purple Swamphen, and Ibis* (must be tethered)

•  Most commonly used and versatile size

•  Recommended: Purchase two replacement nets with this size

3250 × 100 × 100 mm

•  Highly regarded by experienced users for Ibis given their long beak and the possibility of them being able to slip out from underneath a smaller mesh size because of their beaks.

•  Must be tethered

•  Recommended: Purchase two replacement nets with this size

3250 × 180 × 180 mm

•  Best for Swans and Pelicans

•  Must be tethered

4000 × 200 × 200 mm

•  Best suited for Pelicans in water

•  Must be tethered

•  Too large for land use – ideal when launched from a boat, pier or bridge into water

•  Least commonly used size

Additional Notes

•  Some users successfully use nets smaller than 2500 × 50 × 50 mm for very small birds. However, we do not stock these sizes because they are not commonly used.

•  We recommend every customer purchases two spare nets for each of the three most commonly used sizes (2500x50x50, 3000x75x75 and 3250×180x180). As your experience level grows, we would also recommend investing in the other sizes.
